History of the Hilversum Int'l scout group.
In December 1990, on the initiative of a parent at the International School in Hilversum a local Cub Scout pack started. The pack fell under the auspices of the Dutch scout Association and was based on the British Scout Associations Cub Scout programme. It was known as the Montgomery Cub Scout Pack.
Two years later a decision was made in the interests of the pack to join the British Scouts in Western Europe (BSWE). The 1st Hilversum (Intl) Cub Scout Pack officially registered on 1st of January 1993 with the Scout association London. Members of the group wore the BSWE County and Benelux Badges on their right sleeve. The growth of the group was explosive and by the end of 1993 had grown by 150% to 28 members. A scout troop started in January 1994 but due to lack of leadership was disbanded a year later. In 1996 a beaver colony was started but also disbanded 6 months later for the same reason. Since January 1998 we started a new Scout Troop and in September 2000 the Beavers started again.
On January 2007 the group became members of Scouting Nederland.
