The Beaver programme
|Age||For boys and girls aged 5 till 8 years.|
|Meeting time||Thursday evening from 4.45pm till 6.00 pm.|
|Address||Orionlaan 60 Hilversum.|
A Beaver colony is made up of scouts aged 5 to 8 years old. They belong to the first and youngest section in the scouting family. Young people can join Beaver Scouts after their 5th birthday. They can move to the next section, Cub Scouts, in the year they become eight. Easily recognised by their distinctive red sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. They meet once a week in a Beaver Scout colony. Some Beaver Scout colonies also organise sleepovers. These are often the first time a young person spends a night away from home. They take place in suitable buildings, often scout centres.
Beaver colony is ready for you!
The international Beaver colony started in 2013 and has proved to be a great success for the littlest scouts in Hilversum. The planned meetings will take place at the clubhouse at the Orionlaan between 16:45 till 18:00 pm, every Thursday. Carla Jansen is the Beavers’ leader. There are only a few places left. So be an eager beaver and sign up!
To know all about the Beaver Law, Promise, Motto, Uniform, Pickup and Drop timings, Ceremonies etc., please read this document. Note that we can always do with help from parents who can be regular helpers or participate regularly on a roster basis (On duty approximately every 8 weeks).
A Beaver has fun, works hard and helps family and friends.
I promise to love the country and to help take care of the world.
